As a wife and a mother of Four, my household chores never ends. From waking up at 500AM to make my husband’s lunch, putting the girls to sleep, waking up every 15 minutes (I guess, it’s 15 minutes interval) to tend to my youngest. I don’t even know if I still sleep or not. Maybe I close my eyes then, all of a sudden I have to open it again, because lots of things to do. Yay!
Laundry, argh! mountain after mountain..I can be one of the stock holders of Arm and Hammer laundry detergent (it’s the cheapest I can find, and it’s good) and the Everyday fabric softener (Great Value brand)Whew! with the size of my family, generics can be great most of the time, except for food though. Most of the time, I go for brand names.
Folding..Yup, sometimes it can be irritating, but I love folding my kids clothes, especially the little ones. My only problem would be, going upstairs and make a room in their closets. I don’t understand why I kept buying them clothes, and they don’t even wear most of it.
Cooking..ahhhh..sometimes, I feel like I am a server in a restaurant, 4 children, with 4 different taste buds. Then my husband who’s picky as well..sometimes, I just want to get a little notepad and ask them what they want and give them the Special of the day..
Cleaning…At least once a week, I get down on my knees to scrub our kitchen floors, I can’t just wipe it off with wet rug. I can’t finish the whole kitchen in one day, since it’s a little big and when the kids are around, they can slide and break their neck. So, I only do it when they’re sleeping or playing quietly at the basement.
These chores I believe are the ones that came in with the Homemaker job description. I might not get paid by the hour, but when I see my family happy and healthy, it’s worth all the sweat and exhaustion. I love being a wife, being a mom and of course, I love being ME…
