To honor this month of May, all our topics will be about motherhood and parenthood. We cannot be born in this world without our mothers, and we cannot be a mother without our partner, so they are also included in here. For this week, we would like to introduce our mothers, the ones carried us for 9 months inside their wombs, risked their lives during delivery and took care of us when we were little. I know that some of you are not close to your mothers, or don’t have a good relationship with them but it doesn’t mean that you won’t introduce them to all of us.
We always have to remember, we owe them our lives and no matter what, our mothers played the other biggest role in our existence in this world. Without them, we won’t be around..
Meet our mothers:
This is my mother Digna Agustin, originally from Guimba Nueva Ecija, Philippines. She’s now 61 years old. She lives with us since 2002, helping me with the kids. She is a very quiet woman, but can be loud if provoked. She is willing to sacrifice everything she has for the sake of her children. She loves to sing Karaoke, she’s diabetic and now on medication. I cannot say that she is my best friend because sometimes, she looks at life in a negative way. I cannot tell her anything about love life or about some problems due to the fact that she reacts so quick and negatively so, I better keep it to myself. She sacrificed a lot when we were young, worked overseas and away from us to help with finance and all that. But, one thing I can tell about my mom, she is willing to die and kill for us, and I would love her until my last breath. Happy Mother’s Day Madir!
This is Barbara Bacallao born in Illinois, Rodney’s mom and my mother-in-law. She lives in New York. From time to time she comes over to visit. Last time she came was last year, it was May 2009. She’s a very generous person, will be 56 on the 25th of this month. We can talk about anything. They send the kids money for birthdays and Christmas which is really awesome. Even if they live far away, we call each other and we can joke about everything. Happy Mother’s Day Mom!
Meet Brenda Barnett originally from Gary, Indiana, Rodney’s step -mom, and also my mother in-law. They live here in Alabama, about 15-20 minutes away from us. We see them often, especially the kids, they go to church together. She is the same age as my mother. She’s a quiet person as well, very nice and if you go to their house, she would ask you if you need anything, and she would make you feel welcome. She seems to be a very private person, but we get along very well. Happy Mother’s Day Mom!

Ewan ko po, di ko tlaga ma count as mother ang nanay ko… hahaha!!! I have so many naman who treated me as if I came from them, and to them I think I owe my life…
